Functional production process
In Loviisa, cores are produced on two heavy core machine lines on weekdays in a day shift. Cardboard is delivered to the factory in packages consisting of narrow cardboard discs. Discs are unrolled and strips are glued and guided onto a spiral-shaped fixed shaft.
Quality requirements of the resulting core are met by using different cardboards, adjusting the number of cardboard strips and using manufacturing shafts of different sizes. Cores are cut to the right length – either directly with the core machine or in the post-cutting unit – to meet the customer's needs. After the drying process, cores are packed, loaded and delivered to customers.
The owner constantly invests in the maintenance and development of the factory. The latest investments concerned the factory’s drying area and property heating, where oil was replaced with renewable and more environmentally friendly energy by utilizing the waste heat generated from production.
