"Diverse challenges and continuous learning"

Adalmina (25), HR Coordinator at Corex Finland’s Pori mill

“This is my third summer working at Corex. I started in 2022 when I was looking for an internship. My partner, who also worked at Corex during the summer, told me about this opportunity. I got the internship, and I’ve been working here every summer since then.”

Strong foundation from previous roles for the current position

I am a student, and before joining Corex, I worked in various customer service roles in the retail sector. This background has given me a solid foundation for my current responsibilities in human resources.

I have also worked at Corex as an HR intern for the past couple of summers. My work has involved ensuring the accuracy of payroll and conducting payroll audits, assisting with payroll tasks, reporting on HR metrics, supporting managers with HR-related issues, and working on various small projects. For example, coordinating the Midsummer bag was one of my projects, and I have also planned wellness days.

Corex isn't too big or too small

Before I started working here, I had heard nothing but positive things about Corex. During my studies, I had taken several courses in HR, and I wanted to gain practical experience in human resources management. This job has inspired me in terms of my career, and HR has become a field I really enjoy.

In my opinion, Corex is an excellent employer for many reasons. First of all, there is a great atmosphere here. The company is just the right size—not too big and not too small. I also find the circular economy, which is integral to Corex’s operations, to be a very interesting and important topic.

The employee benefits are really good: a gym, wellness days, a Midsummer gift bag, free access to the swimming bath, and e-passes are also available to summer employees. Another important factor for me personally is the great location, as Corex is in the city center with excellent public transportation access.

The employer values and takes its employees into consideration

I think it’s great that an employer values its employees. At Corex, employees are well taken care of and rewarded for a job well done. This is really important.

The best part of being a summer employee is continuous self-development—you’re always learning new things and gaining more experience. Learning and my coworkers are the best parts of the job.

I want to advance in my career! Corex has shown me the fun side of HR, and I’m really excited about it. I can definitely recommend Corex as a workplace to others as well.”
