This job offers opportunities for continuous growth
I began working at Corex in May 2022. My primary responsibilities include managing the factory’s maintenance warehouse, making purchasing and procurement decisions, monitoring material flows, and developing warehouse operations. My daily tasks involve keeping the warehouse organized, receiving deliveries, managing inventory items, and ensuring that stock levels are maintained.
The main objective of my work is to make warehouse operations as efficient and well-functioning as possible, while ensuring that they support the needs of maintenance in the best possible way. My work is highly varied and includes a wide range of different tasks.
Environmental values make work more meaningful
Issues related to environmental well-being add value to my work and align with my own values. That’s another reason why I find my work interesting and meaningful.
Over the years, I’ve seen a lot of different industries and how they consume certain natural resources. At Corex, we use only recycled fibers as raw materials, and our products are 100% recyclable. That’s amazing!
It’s great to work at Corex. My coworkers are really nice. The “Corex Together” events, as well as our morning and weekly team meetings, strengthen our team spirit. These are practices I really appreciate, as they foster a sense of togetherness: We all share the common goal of producing a high-quality product and keeping the wheels turning.
In addition, diverse employee benefits, such as cultural and wellness benefits, are things I really appreciate. They’re a plus and make employees feel that they and their work are valued.
Corex has done an excellent job of addressing workplace well-being. The comprehensive occupational health services work well, and it’s easy to go talk to your supervisor if you need to. This accessibility creates a sense that there is support and security in the workplace—a people-oriented approach helps with coping at work.
Safety issues have also been taken into account very well. Work procedures and safety are reviewed every morning during a team meeting.
A long career is made up of small pieces
I worked for 11 years as a machinist at a woodworking company. I also did inlay work for Caribbean cruise ships. The work was physically demanding, so at some point I started thinking that I wouldn’t be able to do this until retirement. I decided to look for an office job. I found a job in sales at a factory. I served customers, visited retailers, prepared quotes, and drew up work orders for production using AutoCAD. My work history includes many other roles, ranging from executive assistant to production supervisor.
You learn something from every job
A year ago, I saw Corex’s job posting for a procurement coordinator and thought that this might be the kind of job and work environment that would suit me well and where my experience would be a good fit. That’s turned out to be the case, and I’m really enjoying it.
To future job seekers, I’d like to say that you always learn something from every job—you always take something away with you, even if you don’t end up doing that job for the rest of your life. Even a long career can sometimes be made up of many small, different pieces.
